How to brew with Aero Press

The Aeropress is undoubtedly one of the most beloved pieces of equipment in the coffee world. Its simple design, fast brewing time, and portability make it a favorite among coffee enthusiasts both at home and on the go. Furthermore, when used correctly, the Aeropress can deliver both a clean, filter-like experience and a more intense experience, similar to a moka pot.

Below, we share two different brewing methods with the Aeropress: one for those seeking balanced, clear flavors, and the other for those seeking a stronger, espresso-like intensity.

1. Aeropress Recipe Similar to Filter Coffee

This method brings out the fruity and vibrant aromas in lighter roasted coffees .

Materials:

  • 14 grams of freshly ground, filter-fine coffee

  • 200 grams of boiling water

  • Aeropress + paper filter

Steps:

  1. Rinse your paper filter under cold water for a few seconds.

  2. Add 14 grams of coffee to the chamber.

  3. Add 200 grams of boiling water.

  4. Gently stir the mixture 3 times.

  5. Insert the plunger, stop the water from draining, and let the coffee brew for 60 seconds.

  6. Remove the plunger and mix again 3 times.

  7. Finally, insert the plunger and slowly pour the coffee into your cup without pressing too hard.

Conclusion:
A clean, balanced, and crisply flavored coffee. It produces excellent results, especially with single-origin beans with strong fruit notes.

2. Moka Pot Thick Aeropress Recipe

If you are looking for a more intense, full-bodied coffee that is closer to espresso, this recipe is for you.

Materials:

  • 20 grams of moka pot finely ground, espresso roasted coffee

  • 100–150 grams of boiling water

  • Aeropress + paper filter

Steps:

  1. Rinse your filter with water for 10 seconds.

  2. Add 20 grams of coffee to the chamber.

  3. Add 100–150 grams of boiling water.

  4. Stir the coffee vigorously 3 times.

  5. Insert the plunger and press it gently using the weight of your body.

Conclusion:
A powerful drink with an intense aroma, reminiscent of moka pot coffee. Ideal for an energizing start to the morning.
